Somebody who can catch flies with chopsticks is capable of just about anything. Facing challenges is part of our daily lives, much like tackling this tribute project in honor of Mr. Miyagi, the character from Karate Kid who inspired our studio’s name.
Nobody’s taught us more about the importance of patience and dedication when working with precision. As a Karate Kid idol, Miyagi is part of our essence as artists, from whom we learned that it takes a lot of training to perfect our technique every day— like someone training Kung Fu.
This creation began as a personal exercise by our 3D Supervisor Ismael Ramos, who then inspired our Director Cássio Braga to join the project and help create a tribute essay in honor of the martial arts master himself.
The project uses a composition of supplementary techniques like 3D design and photography, emulating the daily life of Mr. Miyagi immersed in a typical Brazilian environment. It was probably our subconscious expressing its desire to run into him by chance, and ask him about an enigma or simply to thank him for his teachings.
The great master also taught us how characters form part of our lives, molding our stories and inspiring us to push the envelope. Even if they don’t exist in our physical world, they reside in our imagination. Thank you master, for inspiring us daily. 🙌
