The slickest car pics you’ll see
GTB Brasil called us up to do a photo shoot celebrating the launch of the new Ford Ranger Black, and we couldn’t be more stoked for the challenge.
The Ranger Black was crafted in the urban style of a metropolitan night, without sacrificing its original nature of strength and agility for this special all-black model. For all the power to best come through on the screen, we went heavy on the contrasts between light and shadows in the backgrounds and scenes we created. The nightime visual language, together with a black model car like this, really ups the difficulty in showing off its design and smaller details. Details in red LED heat things up a bit, adding a splash of aggressiveness to the scenes and amping the power and speed so associated with this model.
For this particular project we chose the traditional technique of automotive photography, and there was no lack of big production structure with external illumination, camera cranes, watering down the asphalt, and plenty more. It all came together to form the perfect backdrop in which to shoot, using perfect angles, the star of our show—the New Ford Ranger Black. It was intense four days, or should we say nights, at six unique locations to guarantee nothing but the best shots of Ford’s newest model.
The humongous shoot brought together over 50 professionals from the collar of both Miagui and Agência. But you’d be wrong to think it was shot 100% on film. Miagui’s next-level 3D kicked into action in post production to further enhance the scenery in the shots.
Overall there are more than 20 stills in which we show off the car and all its stunning detail in a purely nocturnal vision. It was an intense journey but really rewarding, and in the end went as smooth as a quick ride in a Ranger. Wanna find out even more? Be sure to check out the making of.
